WindTurbine

A WindTurbine is basically a big propellor on a stick which blows around in the wind. This technology is hundred of years old. In the UK, it's most traditional use is to turn a large heavy Mill Stone to produce flour; internationally, it's other main use was for pumping water, often to enable land reclaimation.

A WindTurbine is by far the best developed mechanism for generating WindPower. There are large scale developments in the UK, putting WindFarms, which generate Electricity. The WindTurbine is likely to be one of the major technologies generating ObligateRenewable Energy.

There are a number of major difficulties with WindTurbines, which are typified by the WindPowerDebate.
