About me
I am a PhD student at Newcastle University in the School of Computing Science since 2009 and member of the Balance@Home project. I graduated with a Diplom Media Informatics degree from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2008. During my time in Munich I worked as a student assistant in the Fluidum project from 2006 to 2008. Now, I am based in the Culture Lab, and do my research on accompanied computing in the Ambient Kitchen. My main research interests are gesture/activity based human-computer interaction and user interfaces in Ubiquitous Computing environments.
I am also interested in exploring new ways of interaction on interactive surfaces.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, taking photos, and doing sports. You can find some of my photos under "Activities" on my website. I am a 2nd Dan black belt in Taekwondo but haven't practiced Taekwondo since uni. I would like to go for the next degree if I have more time and got some agility left.
