Hi, I am Christian Kray, and I am a lecturer at the School of Computing Science and the Informatics Research Institute at Newcastle University. I also work in Culture Lab. This is my personal home page describing my research interests, listing my publications and providing information about my teaching. Any opinions and views expressed here are my own, and do not necessarily reflect those of the University of the School. A bit about me.
My main research interests are in the areas of mobile and ubiquitous computing, human-computer interaction, and artificial intelligence. I am particularly interested in visuo-spatial interaction (e.g. using proximity regions around devices to trigger certain actions), in accessible interfaces (e.g. that can be used by users with different abilities and backgrounds) and in evaluation methods for mobile and ubiquitous systems. I joined Newcastle University in 2005 as a lecturer. Prior to coming to Newcastle, I spent some time in Hans Gellersen's group at Lancaster University. Before that, I worked at the German Research Center for AI, and got my PhD and MSc from Saarland University back in Germany.
